At the 2026 AGM at Tarremah Steiner School Hall on Saturday August 8th, the Tasmanian Fencing Association management committee voted to grant outgoing president Avery Holderness-Roddam lifetime membership status. Holderness-Roddam joins the only other community member to be granted the membership, Brian Sibson.
The committee moved to grant Holderness-Roddam the membership based on over a decade of service to the sport of fencing in Tasmania. The current state of the association, progress towards affiliation and the existence of the current fencing clubs in Tasmania are directly attributable to the unflagging enthusiasm, support and work of Holderness-Roddam.
While Holderness-Roddam has stepped away from direct committee business, they will continue to be a significant driver of the development of the sport in the state.
